Our first son (and first child full stop), Sebastian, is due here at the end of the month. The wife declared the theme for his room would be airplanes, so I thought a neat thing to do would be to make his fan look like the nose of a WWII fighter:

We used the existing fan (a really nice Casablanca was the late 70s or early 80s...all brass, no plastic), added a cowl, switched from 5 blades to four and painted those blades black with yellow tips. My dad even found liked Hamilton Standard decals for the blades.

The color is off in the picture though, the ‘engine’ bit looks bronze here, it’s actually like an iron gray color.

I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Also, I took this picture today:

My Mustang with my dad’s Camaro. That Camaro is kinda nuts...it’s a ‘94 with 176k miles on its original clutch. It’s only really ever had one issue, when the optispark died at 100k. Besides that, it’s never had a situation where it didn’t get to where you were trying to go.

Now I'm off to enjoy some football games. Go Pats!

Go Pats indeed. We’re going to miss Gronk this week but hopefully Amendola is healthy enough to play well.

Cool. Interesting melding of Hunter fan and P-51. Since I’m more of a Corsair nut, I bought one of those navy blue with white checkerboard fans, but it only had a two-blade fan. Lame.

I’ve heard reports saying Amendola is going to play, which would make me feel a lot better. I don’t think it’s going to be a great game today, but until Edelman and Gronk get back, they just need to scratch by. On the plus side, I’ve heard that both Donta Hightower and Jamie Collins are playing, though sitting Hightower a week another week wouldn’t bother me too much.

Getting Collins back is huge, he’s a great player. Probably our best on defence. We’re definitely not guna put up huge points, but if the defence steps up we wont need to.

I hear that 100k is about their limit. My aunt killed one by driving through a deep puddle, my dad’s just plain old died.

Yeah, I don’t anticipate the defense having a lot of trouble with Philly, and the offense will score enough points. I’m glad its a 4 o clock game...I hate late games, and I like being able to watch both the 1 o clock games.

Yeah I especially dislike late games. Sunday night football starts at 1:30 am here...Missed the Denver game and had to watch it the next day because it was on too late.
